Research on Multimodal Tacit Knowledge Digitalization and Neuro-Symbolic Work Intelligence for Transferring Manufacturing Expertise to Industrial Humanoids
  • Category: National R&D
  • Status: ongoing
  • Funding Agency: National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF)
  • Program: Core Research (Type B)
  • Project Lead (Assigned Ph.D. Student): Deun-Sol Cho (Former), Jae-Min Cho (Current)
  • Participation Type: Lead
  • Research Period: 2026.03 ~ 2031.02
  • Research Objective: Research on foundational neuro-symbolic work intelligence technology for industrial humanoids based on digitalizing the multimodal tacit knowledge of skilled workers.
  • Participating / Collaborating Organizations: -

Key Points

  1. WP1: Identification of task causality in skilled workers' tacit-knowledge data and automatic generation of formalized knowledge for decision-making (Symbolic) and behavior (Neuro).
  2. WP2: Digital-twin-based analysis of worker-humanoid body-structure correlations and transformation into humanoid-centered formalized behavior knowledge.
  3. WP3: Development of a neuro-symbolic work intelligence model for industrial humanoids capable of inferring and generating skilled-worker-level task strategies and task actions.
  4. WP4: Generation and verification of target industrial humanoid control code for physically executing inferred task strategies and actions.
